Grandma once said she only wanted to watch the women ice skate on the TV
that she could hardly walk around the room but that she could sit and that she could watch
and so she’d wait for the program to come
the one with the women and their skates
and she’d watch
the women spinning
/ when I was at home I found videos and I saved videos
the ones with the women spinning
the women skating on the hard ground
/ when I shared them with her, she looked confused
she fussed with her shirt
/ a year later she was dying
in a hospital bed, she said, let me out of here,
she said, this mask isn’t mine
and so I said, we’re going upstairs
I said, you’ll be comfortable there
and when I said this, she sunk and she nodded
she spun and she skated
on the hard ground

The world spins. Life spins. And the individual spins. Great piece. It captures moments and emotions. Thanks for the read. Enjoy the day.
Made me cry.
